Golden Paws Pet Styling Academy is located in Kokomo, 50 miles north of Indianapolis. This school operates as a part of A Special Touch Grooming, a modern upscale facility. We offer an extensive educational experience which allows the student the opportunity to train in a real world setting. The student will be knowledgeable from day 1 on how to work in and be a part of a professional grooming salon.
The front entrance has a receiving area where the clients are greeted and pets are checked in. The classroom for theory and lab/practical application is equipped with a variety of professional grooming stations. The library/video area offers the student a well rounded education in breed profiles and how to develop the styling skills needed to groom any pet or breed standard. Golden Paws has instructional videos that compliment each section or skill set learned in the Golden Paws Instructional Manuel. There is a bathing and drying area where the student will use professional bathing and drying systems while learning how to keep the pets coat healthy and in shape.
There is a break area that has a microwave and refrigerator.
Golden Paws Pet Styling Academy offers excellent career training through knowledge and high skill level.
The students off time can be spent visiting surrounding areas or enjoying local shopping, movies, fishing, dog parks, museums, golfing, swimming or just relaxing. Kokomo is easy to get around usually by walking or a short taxi ride. There are several housing options to choose from near the school.
Ownership and Governance
Christine & Thomas McDonough are the proprietors of Golden Paws Pet Styling Academy. They are Licensees of the Golden Paws Pet Styling Program. Golden Paws has 40 years of educational experience and offers a proprietary instructional program that teaches step by step and develops the student’s tool usage, quality styling skills and how to apply those skills to create breed designs and create client requests, and quality bathing skills.
